0React.js is a JavaScript library for building user interfaces, created and maintained by Meta. Instead of writing a page as one big block of HTML, developers break it into reusable components, small pieces of interface that manage their own data and update on screen the moment that data changes. It's the foundation behind a large share of the web's interactive interfaces, from single dashboards to full consumer apps, and it also powers mobile development through React Native.
Whether you have a project that needs React expertise you don't have in-house, want to learn how to think about component-based interfaces yourself, or simply want to connect with people building in the React ecosystem, Toskie TeamUp gives you a direct path to real collaborators instead of a cold job posting. Browse actual profiles and case studies, filter for the kind of collaboration you need, whether that's TeamUp for hands-on project work or Mentor for learning, and start the conversation yourself. If you're the one with React expertise rather than the one looking for it, you can set up a collaborator profile and start hearing directly from people who need it.
Toskie makes it easier to find and connect with skilled professionals for exactly what you need.
Discover — Search for React.js collaborators based on the skill or requirement you have in mind.
Filter — Narrow things down using details like skills, experience, and location.
Review — Look through a collaborator's profile to get a real sense of their background and what they've actually done.
Connect — Reach out to the people who seem like a genuine fit for your requirement.
Collaborate — Talk through the project, define what you actually need, and start working together once it feels like the right match.
Whether you're looking for a React.js collaborator nearby or someone with a very specific kind of expertise, Toskie helps take the guesswork out of finding them and starting the conversation.
A React.js collaborator builds and maintains the interactive parts of a web application, working with components, state, and the wider React ecosystem to turn a design into something users can actually click through. The day-to-day work usually spans a few distinct areas.
Instead of writing each screen from scratch, React collaborators break interfaces into components like buttons, forms, and cards that can be reused across the app. This keeps the codebase consistent and makes changes faster to roll out later.
As an app grows, keeping track of what data is showing where becomes its own challenge. React collaborators handle this with built-in hooks like useState and useContext, or with dedicated tools like Redux or Zustand when the app needs something more structured.
A React interface is only as useful as the data behind it. This means fetching data from backend APIs, handling loading and error states cleanly, and making sure the interface stays in sync with whatever is happening on the server.
Large React applications can slow down if components re-render more than they need to. Collaborators work on things like code splitting, memoization, and lazy loading so the app stays fast as it grows.
Some React collaborators extend their skills into React Native, using the same component-based approach to build mobile apps for iOS and Android from a largely shared codebase.
Every collaborator profile on Toskie lets you look at their skills, past work, and portfolio before you ever reach out, and starting a conversation about your project costs nothing before you decide anything. React is deceptively easy to get started with but hard to do well at scale, so the biggest failure mode isn't someone who can't write a component, it's someone whose app works fine in a demo and then falls apart once real data and real state complexity get added. Keep these in mind:
How they explain their state management choices, since someone who reaches for a heavy tool like Redux on a small app, or avoids structure entirely on a complex one, often hasn't built enough real production apps to know the tradeoffs.
Familiarity with the current React ecosystem, including hooks and modern patterns, rather than older class-component approaches that are increasingly out of step with how teams build today.
Evidence of performance thinking, not just working code, since a component that renders correctly but re-renders constantly will feel slow to real users even if it looks fine in testing.
A direct-conversation signal, since not every collaborator will have a polished case study. Asking how they'd structure a specific screen or feature often reveals more than a portfolio link alone.
A front end developer is a broader role covering HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and general browser-based development, while a React.js collaborator specializes specifically in building interfaces with React's component and state model described above. In practice most React work is front end work, but not every front end developer has deep React experience, and someone who has spent years with React specifically will move faster and avoid more of the state-management pitfalls covered earlier than someone using it occasionally alongside other frameworks.
No, React is a front end library built to run in the browser and render user interfaces, not a backend tool. Server-side logic and APIs are typically handled separately, often in Node.js, which is a different skill set even though both commonly use JavaScript. If your project needs both the interface and the server built, you may be looking for a React collaborator and a backend collaborator, or someone who covers both.
Toskie doesn't set or process rates. Pricing and terms are agreed directly between you and the collaborator you connect with, based on the scope you define.
No. Toskie facilitates the connection; any commercial or payment terms are arranged directly between you and the collaborator.
